Restore Your Smile With Crowns
How It Works
At Vitalize Dental, we offer traditional zirconia crowns and Emax ceramic crowns. The Emax crowns are typically better-wearing and longer lasting but are also more expensive. During your consultation at Vitalize Dental, we can discuss your options and help you decide which crown is best for you.
After deciding on a dental crown material, our team will prepare the tooth by removing any decayed or damaged tissue as well as reducing the size of the tooth so that the new tooth crown will fit. Then, your dentist will take an impression so that an exact mold can be made for the tooth cap. This means you will get a perfect fit that shouldn’t protrude or look fake. Also, the color of your teeth will be examined to determine the exact shade needed to match the repair to your remaining teeth. While this is being made, a temporary crown will be used until the permanent one is ready to be fitted.
A dental technician at our trusted dental laboratory will then use the mold to make the permanent crown, which can take a week or two. Once the custom-made, permanent crown is made, we can securely cement it into place where it will protect for years to come.
